On Valentine’s day I spent the evening at Etsy labs working on painting of glass hearts, the one’s we’re holding up in the photo. It was fun, reminded me of being in elementary, or middle school. A simple time when you could focus on the creation of something arty just by using the tools laid out in front of you.

Opportunities don’t present themselves in exactly this way for the grown-up. It was fun and therapeutic just going into that tactile creative zone. I do get into the creative zone in other ways, needless to say, but rarely anymore in the physical world as with the practice of craft and design. It’s a different thing than photography is, where there’s more emphasis on the mental imagery component and less of the tactile free flowing creativity there is in drawing, or craft making.

Thank you, Etsy, for providing this nostalgic craft outlet.

By the way, I’ve supported etsy for almost a year now. I sell my photos in an etsy shop.
