I8217;ve lived in Brooklyn nearly all my life, but it’s only been the last few years where I’ve begun to explore it. To speak to that, I just learned about an annual tradition that takes place here in Brooklyn. Every year, neighbors within the Dyker Heights community put on a show of holiday cheer right in front of their homes.
Nothing too unusual and fantastic about that, you might think. That is until you see in-person the degree to which they take Christmas decorating. I took my mom, sister, and Michele to go check it out one weekend. Now, not everyone in the neighborhood takes decorating this seriously, but you’ll find that many folks from 80th to 85th streets between 11th and 12th avenues don’t make light of putting on a show.
