Spring is actually here, believe it or not. One of my annual spring-time activities is a walk through the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. I challenge myself each time I visit to see something new– some detail or some new perspective that I haven’t photographed before. It gets harder every year as my coverage of the grounds gets more complete while the scenery remains mostly unchanged. Even so, I look forward to each visit because I get the chance to really study my subject by zooming ever closer to explore new compositional possibilities. Take a single blossoming tree for instance. There are hundreds of branches to look at, each bearing flowers in a dizzying potential of arrangements ; increasing in complexity as new branches form each year.

The potential is really inexhaustible for one man to capture.
