One of the potential perks that come with donating your email address to businesses, is getting invited to free events. Last month, Michele and I got to attend a Holiday party Preview event at Bowlmore Lanes near 42nd street.

The promotion was extended to a few folks who were on Bowlmor lanes’ mailing list. What they were trying to do here is show-off their facilities which consist of several themed bowling areas, from asian (gongs, and bamboo) decor , to old hollywood, and Coney island theme park decorated lanes. An unusual idea, but a cool place to explore if you want to have a Birthday or Holiday party at venue like this. The beautiful thing that a divided layout enables is real privacy. All of your guests remain segregated from the mainstream public flow without having to shut the entire place down for your event.

The Number One reason it paid to go to the event was the free food and drinks ALL night long. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that kind of thing in New York City. Well , except for another recent event that Yelp hosted. This seems to be the new marketing strategy of public spaces in NYC. If you’re lucky enough to be in-the-know, you can do several of these a month !
